HISTORY

Moving into a home near what is now University and Mill, Marjorie Hand brought with her conservative values and an enthusiasm for the party that encouraged the right for women to vote. In 1947, her and a small group of like-minded individuals formed the beginning of an organization that has stood the test of time and brought tremendous service to both the City of Tempe and the Republican Party.

Presidential candidates, Governors,  Legislators, authors and a plethora of local activists have all contributed their part to Tempe Republican Women history, whether as members of our organization or as associates. Our memories include the likes of Barry Goldwater and Ronald Reagan, while our future remains bright with the passion and intelligence of newer generations.
