Jan Meeting Updates

Thank you all who showed up on Monday for our first meeting of the year! I am happy to report that we gained a few new members that night.

We had a very educational meeting, with our speakers Matt Papke (speaking on city updates and issues) and Andrew Munoz of Solar City (speaking on SRP’s rate increase and the latest solar controversies in our state.)

Below are some links and articles to follow up on the topics discussed. Our speakers requested us to post these, so that our members may review and take action where they feel it is needed. Voices from both sides on some of these issues were in attendance at our meeting.

Tempe Public Records Request: Click Here

SRP Rate Increase Protest Petition: Click Here

No matter what your opinion is on this issue, TRW feels it is extremely important to communicate to our members that the next SRP meeting, regarding the solar rate increase, will take place on February 9th at 8:30am at the:

SRP PERA Club
1 E. Continental Dr.
Tempe, AZ 85281

Of course, this is a working day for many of us. But many in the Tempe community will be in attendance, from both sides of this issue. If you have an opinion on the rate increase that you would like to share with SRP, we highly encourage you to attend, if possible. The final vote is February 26th.

Finally, and of equal importance, Tempe will be hosting an open forum on the city’s BUDGET! Oh yeah. Time to inject some fiscal conservatism into those conversations.

The forum will be held at 6PM in the Community Room at the Tempe History Museum, 809 E Southern Ave.

A webpage has been created with updated details of the process and dates for City Council discussions and votes on the budget. There is also a SURVEY on the webpage, www.tempe.gov/budgetplan, which will be live from Feb 25th to March 27th.

We are looking forward to a strong year in 2015. Let’s go get ’em ladies!

January 26th Meeting, 6:30PM

We have some big announcements coming this month and you won’t want to miss out on this meeting.

See you all there!
